Historique :	La table d'autel provient de l'ancienne église Saint-Alain de Lavaur. En 1943, date de son classement, et jusque dans les années 60 elle se trouvait dans la chapelle de l'hôpital de Lavaur où elle était utilisée comme autel secondaire. Par la composition et par le style les sculptures montrent une parenté évidente avec celles de Moissac : l'autel de Lavaur n'est qu'un agrandissement d'un tailloir de Moissac (82).

Précision_sur la representation :	Sur la face centrale deux anges allongés tiennent un médaillon contenant le buste du Christ imberbe. De part et d'autre des anges brandissant un voile stylisé en croissant, et à gauche Marie, voilée, dans l'attitude de l'orante, regarde le Christ à travers un voile tendu par un ange. Sur la face de droite deux anges présentent la table d'autel. sur la face gauche deux anges vénèrent le pain du ciel.
