Historique :	Le blason serait celui de la famille Cardon qui porte : 'De gueule à une bande vivrée d'argent, accompagnée de deux aigles d'or, membrée de sable, posées une en chef et une en pointe' . Cet armorial est libellé d'après l'Armorial Général de 1696. Ces armoiries ont été enregistrées à Albi et données d'office. Jacques Cardon : prévôt du chapitre de Rieux devint prévost de Saint Salvy le 2 février 1661. Il avait un caractère fort ombrageux comme en témoignent les archives notariales Rouzières du fonds Malphettes conservées aux Archives du Tarn.. ILy a aussi Jérôme-François Cardon qui fut prévôt de Saint-Salvy de 1691 à 1715.

Précision sur l'inscription :	Armoiries (en bas et à gauche) : blason surmonté d'un heaume ornement extérieur à ll'écu dont on se servait autrefois pour reconnaître le titre et le rang de chaque gentilhommE. L'écu est 'de gueule à la fasce guivrée d'argent accompagnée de deux aigles d'or aux ailes éployées, l'un en chef et l'autre en pointe'.
