Description :	Ces peintures couvrent la partie verticale et incurvée de l'abside de la chapelle de l'hôtel-Dieu. Elles sont réparties en trois cadres à peu près égaux, réunis sur un fond de faux marbre. Le cul-de-four de l'abside est également peint.

Historique :	La chapelle, de style jésuite, a été construite en 1731 par l'évêque Quiqueran de Beaujeu, puis agrandie et réédifiée en 1848 par Soeur Richard. Ces peintures, non signées, ont été attribuées au peintre castrais Jacques Pauthe (1809-1889).
