Historique :	L'émeute dont il est question se déroula le 10 ventôse an II (28 février 1794) : des émeutiers venus de plusieurs paroisses de la région de Salvagnac étaient venus à Rabastens pour délivrer des prisonniers de l'insurrection de la veille, aux cris de la Religion et du Pain. De nombreuses arrestations et exécutions eurent lieu en répression à Gaillac les jours suivants.
